Citizenship VS. Deportation Immigrants played a crucial role in shaping the government and Constitution of the United States. George Washington welcomed both prosperous newcomers and those fleeing persecution. Decades later, President Reagan recognized that many undocumented immigrants contribute to society and advocated for granting them legal status. Today, immigrants—including DACA recipients and their families—continue to navigate complex legal processes while contributing as business owners, homeowners, and taxpayers. Instead of paying for them to “self deport” or arresting and deporting them let’s redirect our resources to Citizenship Pathways and build a stronger, greater nation than we have ever had before!
